Working to Keep Your
Taxes Affordable

Every tax is a pay cut.
Every tax cut is a pay raise.

Citizens for Limited Taxation

This operational override was predicted back in the fall of 2004 after the school committee signed the last teachers contract.

Those of us who keep track of town finances clearly understood that these collective bargaining contracts were going to drive us into an override situation, predicated on issues of state aid, skyrocketing health insurance costs, new growth and the notion that our town manager and the Board of Selectman take the path of least resistance and prefer to offer the taxpayers an override, rather than cut expenses.

A full ninety percent (90%) of town and school employees are unionized. The only purpose of a union is to provide better pay and benefits for their members. The unions (without remorse) will relentlessly drive up our taxes.

Before you are driven out of your house by their reckless spending habits, let's work to drive them to the unemployment line by giving them a resounding NO! NO! NO! vote on this override.

Approximately 12% of this operational override will be used to pay for the town/school services used by illegal aliens that are encouraged to come into Framingham by our Board of Selectman thru their Welcoming Proclamation and sister city agreement with Governador Valadares, Brazil.

Last year, Framingham actually dropped in population according to the town census.  The illegal population continues to rise.

Proposition 2 1/2 was supposed to be used for emergencies only, and not to routinely bloat the salaries and pensions of town and school employees.

The taxpayers should not have to cover deliberate and wanton overspending by the town. This is like expecting the taxpayers to cover the expenses of someone on a cocaine habit.

The signs are good for years to come. Call 508-877-5541 for extra stands. The web site [ http://www.no-more-overrides.org ] will be maintained at my expense for years to come.

Please tell your friends about this override and point them to the web site.

Signs are free and available for the asking as long as we have a supply. You have a choice of signs:

In liberal terminology, any cut over one (1%) percent is considered a draconian cut, and draconian cuts can only lead to disaster.  For instance, your children will become retarded, town services will be slashed, civilization will collapse, and last, but not least, the huns will invade and steal our women folk.

Here's a list of suggested cuts:

  • Sell off $50 million disposable land portfolio (two committees formed to do this, nothing done)
  • Sell off buildings not being directly used by the town
  • Combine vehicle maintenance department (fire/police/parks&rec/public works)
  • Combine grounds maintenance (parks/schools)
  • Why do we have four (4) vice principals in our high school?
  • Why do we have an assistant school superintendent?
  • Why do we have seven (7) fire chiefs (1 chief, 2 assistant, 4 deputy)?
  • Why do we have an assistant town manager?
  • Why do we have two assistant police chiefs?
  • Loring Arena (150K loss per year)
  • Danforth Museum pays nothing to be housed in a town owned building
  • Why do we have town employee longevity pay
  • SPED 9% nationally, 17% in Massachusetts
  • Schools have 1800 employees, 700+ teachers, 8200 students
  • Student/teacher ratio under 12/1
  • Student/Full or part-time adult ratio is 4.5/1
