It is almost unbelievable that the town manager and four out of five
selectmen in Framingham are supporting the discussion/possibility of a
$80 to $100 million debt exclusion.
Seniors on fixed income have just learned that the Medicare increase will be 17.4 percent higher next year. We know our real estate taxes will go up 2 1/2 percent. Without mentioning basics, for example, gas, oil, food, and prescriptions, we enter the new year almost 20 percent behind. I would like to publicly thank Jeanne Bullock, chair of the Capital Budget Committee for asking some good questions. As a Town Meeting member, I share what appears to be frustration regarding inability to get answers and to approach some department heads without fear of intimidation and reprimand. We should all be working together for the welfare, betterment, and improved quality of life for all taxpayers, especially seniors. |
